Moms on Monday :: Toni & Joli of Spunky Sprout

Sisters, Joli & Toni, set out to create "one-stop shopping for modern, unique and colorful products for kids with fabulous style—and their parents!" I can't think of a better way to describe Spunky Sprout. From gear to toys to clothing, they have covered everything you could possibly need or want for your kiddo. i know a mom :: What was your inspiration for starting Spunky Sprout?

joli & toni :: Our inspiration for starting Spunky Sprout started from our passion for modern design, an influence that came from our parent’s, as well as the Birth of my first child. My first child influenced me immensely, but as a first time aunt it also influenced Joli as well. We were both always in search of really cool items to purchase for my daughter that would fit our modern tastes and found it extremely hard to find items that we liked in one store. Above all, we always knew we wanted to run our own business and thought Spunky Sprout was the perfect opportunity to do so.

i know a mom :: What makes Spunky Sprout stand out among the other online children’s boutiques?

joli & toni :: Spunky Sprout stands out, because we offer a wide selection of amazing products that include independent, American, European, and edgy modern designs. We have made a conscious effort to have a clean and simple site that was easy to navigate; which our customers have appreciated. We also cater to the world market and ship worldwide and we strive to offer affordable modern products, many of which are priced under $25.

i know a mom :: What was the best piece of advice you received when starting out?

joli & toni :: Be steadfast!

i know a mom :: When you were in the beginning stages of launching the business, what obstacles did you run into? How did you overcome?

jodi & toni :: Not having enough time to accomplish everything. We just made sure to work out a daily schedule and have weekly meetings with each other about our progress.

i know a mom :: What is next for Spunky Sprout?

jodi & toni :: Spunky Sprout has just teamed up to create a shoe with Sweet Shoes. The Line is called Sweet & Spunky LE. We are also working on opening a location next year as well as working on a book.

i know a mom :: What is your favorite way to unwind/de-stress?

toni :: My favorite way to unwind is to light a candle and take a long bath after I put the kids down. I also love to do a cycle class to relieve stress.

joli :: Relaxing with a good book or watching a good movie, I am a huge fan of Netflix.
